I began my professional career as a licensed mental health therapist with photography as my creative outlet. As my passion grew I began taking photography classes from a local artist. Over the years I perfected my craft while attending workshops with some of the most well-known photographers in our industry. In 2014, as I held my daughter for the first time I knew I had a new muse and decided to pursue my passion full-time.
Watching how fast her perfect little features changed. Remembering how those first few weeks felt like a dream, as I stared at her for hours with sleep-deprived eyes and shaky hands. I wanted it to last forever but before I knew it she was smashing her first birthday cake. It all happened in a blink, truly.
Life happens in a blink. Let me capture you forever.
ABOUT OUR TEAM:
We know how much trust you place us with when allowing us to photograph your new little one. We are well aware that we are among some of the first and few people whom you have trusted to handle your precious little one. We do not take that trust lightly. Safety is our number one priority, which is why I only shoot newborn sessions with an experienced and competent assistant to make sure the baby is always comfortable and safe while capturing magical images!
Michelle Puckett-Newborn Assistant
Michelle is an amazing newborn photographer who has had a successful Studio for years. She came on board as our newborn session assistant and I couldn't be happier. She brings a wealth of knowledge on safe baby posing and has a photographer's eye which is immensely helpful during sessions to make sure we get you the best photos possible. She also has magic hands that are perfect for capturing notoriously difficult poses and for comforting babies during your session.
STUDIO SAFETY
Your newborns safety is always our priority...
With the growth of the photography industry in the last decade, there has been a huge swell in the number of newborn photographers. Not all photographers have the knowledge and skill required to safely handle a baby and create the beautiful poses and images we all strive for.
When looking for a photographer, you should look for one who has received the necessary training in newborn safety. There are so many small details that most don't consider when working with a newborn. I am continuously investing in workshops and in-person clinics to ensure I am well versed and up to date with training in safe posing, equipment handling, studio prep, cleanliness, compositing images, and various other areas. You can rest assured knowing I have learned from the best including Kelly Brown and Ana Brandt (to name a few), two of our industry's top artists, innovators, and educators.
